Prime Forest Products gets ready for the world stage
Providing premium product for the world cup 2030
We’re excited to share that Prime Forest Products has been chosen to supply sustainably sourced wood for one of the most iconic venues of the 2030 FIFA World Cup: The Grand Stade Hassan II in Casablanca, Morocco.
This massive, state-of-the-art stadium is designed to be the largest football stadium in the world with a capacity of 115,000! It’s more than just a stadium, it’s seen as a powerful symbol of culture, innovation, and international collaboration, and we are so proud to play a part in bringing it to life.
Located in El Mansouria, just north of Casablanca, the Grand Stade Hassan II is the pinnacle of Morocco’s World Cup infrastructure. The design is a tribute to Morocco’s cultural heritage inspired by traditional Moussem festival tents. This architectural symbolism is carried through the sweeping lines and airy, open elements of the stadium.
Architectural firm Populous, in collaboration with Oualalou + Choi, are leading the design of the stadium. The total complex spans over 100 hectares and includes a surrounding sports city complete with training grounds, arenas, aquatic centers, hotels, conference spaces, and parkland.
The stadium’s architects placed a strong emphasis on sustainable and natural materials that reflect Morocco’s environment and cultural ethos. Our high-quality wood is being used in various applications within the stadium that will bring warmth, durability, and environmental responsibility to *the* most-watched sporting events in the world.
Our wood products are not only PEFC-certified (PEFC/29-31-347) and sustainably harvested, but they’re also carefully processed to meet the engineering and aesthetic demands of an international-caliber facility.
The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be historic in several ways. For the first time ever, the tournament will be hosted across three continents and six countries; Spain, Portugal, and Morocco are the primary hosts, while Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay will each host one match to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the first World Cup held in Montevideo in 1930.
This collaboration highlights the power of sports to connect nations, and the Grand Stade Hassan II will be a central stage for this global celebration.
At Prime Forest Products, we believe in building more than just structures: we build connections, legacies, and a sustainable future. We’re honored to contribute to this remarkable project and can’t wait to see the world come together under a roof we helped raise.
Stay tuned for updates as we share behind-the-scenes insights into the materials, the build, and the road to 2030.
