Frequently Asked Questions

Prime Forest Products is a secondary manufacturer of high-grade softwood lumber.

We work with Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Taeda Pine, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Western Red Wood Cedar, Radiata Pine and Ponderosa Pine.

1×2/ WDR up to 12×24 Timbers and Cants.

We work predominantly with full sawn rough material. Our facilities have the ability to custom size and surface your order to a 32nd of an inch.

Lamstock lumber is commonly used as a core component in engineered wood products due to its strength, stability, and dimensional consistency.

Some common uses are: Glued-Laminated Timber (Glulam), Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT), Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), Finger-Jointed Lumber, and custom projects where strength and appearance are essential.
From day one, we have implemented a “two trees planted for every one cut down” policy as a sustainable forestry practice that is aimed at ensuring forest regeneration and environmental balance.

This approach helps maintain healthy forest ecosystems, supports the forest’s biodiversity, and contributes to carbon sequestration efforts.
Short answer: Yes!

Longer answer: With our in-house knife shop, ability to cut within a 32nd of an inch, and our various molders and machine capabilities, if you imagine it, we can cut it!
We source our lumber from various regions to meet our diverse customer needs. We import Radiata and Taeda Pine from South America and New Zealand.

Additionally, we source Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Western Red and Alaskan Yellow Cedar, as well as Ponderosa Pine, from various areas around the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

Part of our “secret sauce” is finding the best growing (and looking) fiber for your projects so that every board looks beautiful enough to frame itself. We keep our exact locations of forests as closely guarded as our best fishing spots.

By maintaining our PFC and PEFC Certification we can guarantee our responsible stewardship of the land, owners, and wood.
We sell to various industrial manufacturers, millwork houses, and wholesale distributors, along with exporting to customers around the world.
